After a decade long of successfully running much loved and much acclaimed global Ramadan event series, when I said, this will be the last season of ‘Joy From Fasting To Feasting’ last year… I received many overwhelming messages saying they will miss the event very much. But as every good thing has to come to an end….this event too has seen a happy ending last year. As they say a happy ending is a new beginning. My series of 52 weeks-52 blogger-52 new menu plans has given me this idea to post a menu plan for upcoming Ramadan Days. Though as I always say…Ramadan is not about eating, cooking and relishing delicacies….it is all about fasting, praying, charity and reading Quran…
Being a mommy/wife…the first thing that runs in our mind is to make a satisfying meal which is nutritive and good for our family. During fasting days this responsibility of fixing a proper menu doubles…if we have sick/very old people in the family who cannot fast, young children who are not of fasting age and the people who fast and need to travel long distance for work, working mothers, etc.….fixing a menu keeping all these requirements is bit tiresome during fasting days…so I have come with a plan which will help you in planning your menu with ideas and tips from a bunch of very talented and very graceful Muslim food bloggers round the globe. I have divided this Ramadan menu plan in two half’s and in today’s post I am sharing a menu plan for Day 1-Day 15. Hope this menu plan helps you in planning your Ramadan Menu Plan easily. Day 1&2 – Huma Kalim of ‘Ghezeeshiriin‘

Tip: You can prepare orotti the previous evening. It will stay good for one day at room temperature. And I usually prepare the curries to go along with orotti or Appam the previous night and just warm it for Seher.

Day 7&8 – Zareena Siraj of ‘My Experiments with Food‘
Tip: Storing big batch of foods like pastas, cutlet mix, filling for puffs in containers and when needed, just thaw them and prepare. Doing so leaves you more with more time for other important things. During the fasting time, I drink a lot of buttermilk; it makes the body cool and energetic.

Tip: Soak the dals needed (Moong dal, Channa dal , Black/White Chickpeas) Overnight.. strain and freeze them in Ziplock bags… comes in handy the whole month.
Day 15 – Lubna Karim of ‘Yummy Food‘
Tip: I make curries in the night and will warm them while making roti’s or rice. If I am making roti’s in seher…I will knead the dough before sleeping. This will ease my work and I can spend more time in tahajjud.
